This year's Osteospermum F1 ‘Asti White’ AAS Bedding Plant Award Winner has to be a favorite. The Cape Daisies are wonderful plants for containers and tolerant of heat and drought, they come in an array of colors. This year's winner is described: "Pure white daisy flowers with blue centers are the main attraction for ‘Asti White.’ The large blooms, 2 to 2-1/2 inches across are borne on stems that gracefully wave in the wind." Sounds like Georgia has got some serious problems with Asian earthworms. Affectionately known as "Alabama jumpers" (Amynthas agrestis), these worms are known for their ability to jump right out of a bait cup.-so says the 'Invasive Species Weblog ' |

 Now, that is good coffee! This is the 11th year that Starbucks is giving away coffee grounds in a program called "Grounds for Your Garden". I have long added coffee grounds to my compost pile, and many years ago learned the garden secret from my grandfather to dig some in directly to the ground. |
