GardenWorld has an article on the health benefits of gardening. Among the good things you can expect from your gardening endeavors is sunlights effect on producing Vitamin D in your body and elevating your mood, staying mentally alert and reducing stress, and building a social network. The advice given is to approach gardening as any other athletic effort: warm up and stretching, trying to use good form in actions such as lifting, etc. Sometimes we think so much of the plants and flowers we forget how much of a physical activity it is for us.
