When I gardened in the city I would have people stop by to mention the effect my garden had on their enjoyment of the day. I know it lifts my mood to see a bright patch of flowers, or a even a single beautiful blossom unexpectedly announcing its loveliness. I hope this site is of some use to help you surround your self with a little more beauty and appreciation of creation.
Ohio is my home state, and I was born and raised here… this is where I have gardened. It is strongly agricultural in profile, and I live in a rural area of it now, though previously my yard was an urban one. Clay soil and clay loam, decent rainfall, and a moderate climate give us the “green-ness” Ohio is famous for. Much of the Midwest is similar in regards to gardening practice… and certain things are true for all gardeners, including the basics for creating a home garden landscape. I hope that you find the helpful information you are looking for on my site and that it increases your enjoyment and success in gardening! That is whole purpose: to share gardening tips and enthusiasm over the internet “fence”.

All Seasons Garden File
Making my own gardens since 1973, helping in my mother’s flower beds and my grandfather’s vegetable patch and rose plantings before that, means I have developed this horticultural passion very early in life. Reading everything I could get my hands on from the library’s book shelves, bookstore purchases, visiting public gardens (and private ones!) whenever possible, while paying attention to landscapes wherever I go, this is a topic that has become a lifelong interest. Life is just too short for the occupation of gardening. I have even worked in other peoples gardens, although I am a “mature gardener” now, and don’t have as much strength for that. It hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm one bit, though!
If you are first starting out or intent on improving your landscape, get some good reference books for quickly locating plant “how-to”. Please consider looking at what’s new in the aStore, Garden Sundries. Take a look at the “Cottage Garden” category, if you love that style.
The Cottage Garden Style series of pages has been very popular, since so many like this nostalgic and romantic look. Look at the monthly calender for garden tips. A group of garden book reviews @ the blog, Ilona’s Garden Journal, and if all else fails in finding the page you need there is the simple sitemap, here. I guess that is about it for giving you some ideas on navigating around.
